Describing Function Properties of a Magnetic Pulse-width Modulator
نویسنده
چکیده
An analysis is presented for the transfer functions of a particular pulse-width modulator and power switch subsystem that has been widely used in practical switching-mode d-c regulator systems. The switch and filter are in a "buck" configuration, and the switch is driven by a con stant-frequency variable duty-ratio push-pull magnetic modulator employing square-loop cores. The two transfer functions considered are that with modulator control signal as input and that with line voltage as input. For a-c signals, the corresponding describing functions (DF) are derived. It is shown that current-source drive to the modulator extends the control DF frequency response over that with voltage drive, and that complete cancellation of the effects of line variations can be obtained at d-c but not for a-c. Experimental confirmation of the analytical results for the control DF are presented.

Preliminary Design of Spacecraft Attitude Control with Pulse-Width Pulse-Frequency Modulator for Rest-to-Rest Maneuvers
In this paper, the preferred region of design parameters for quasi-normalized equations of single-axis attitude control of rigid spacecraft using pulse-width pulse-frequency modulator (PWPFM) is presented for rest-to-rest maneuvers. Using the quasi-normalized equations for attitude control reduces the system parameters, that is, the moment of inertia, the filter gain, and the maximum torque of ...
متن کاملA Hysteretic Two-phase Supply Modulator for Envelope Tracking RF Power Amplifiers
In this paper a two-phase supply modulator suitable for envelope tracking power amplifier is presented. The designed supply modulator has the linear assisted switching architecture. Two-phase architecture is used in order to reduce the output switching ripples. The proposed architecture uses hysteretic control instead of pulse width modulation (PWM) which significantly reduces the circuit compl...
متن کاملInvestigations of Microstructures and Magnetic Properties through Off-time between Pulses and Controlled Cu Content in Pulse Electrodeposited NiCu Nanowires
NiCu alloy nanowires arrays were embedded into the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template by ac-pulse electrodeposition. Different off-time were used in electrolyte with constant concentration of Ni and Cu and acidity of 3. The effect of deposition parameters on alloy contents was investigated by studying the microstructure and magnetic properties of as-deposited NiCu alloy nanowires. Atomic forc...

An Igbt Driven Slotted Beam Pipe Kicker for Spear Iii Injection*
The SPEAR III injection kicker system is composed of three kicker magnets, K1, K2, and K3. These magnets, along with the power modulators to drive them constitute an injection system which will be used to deflect an incoming electron beam with an energy of 3.3 GeV by an angle of 2.5 mrad for K1 and K3, and 1 mrad for K2. The pulse shape of the magnetic field in the three magnets must be matched...
